Fort Lauderdale is famous nationwide for its vacation time spring break parties.  Covered in sun, surrounded by people who are there just to have a good time, the local economy explodes into action when school lets out.  During the rest of the season, the town is much quieter, but remains beautiful place to plan an excursion to.

These parties have been known to spill into the streets, the beaches and onto the rooftops as decadence reigns supreme for a few weeks of the year.

The peaceful Florida beaches of Fort Lauderdale start off relatively uncrowded and by the height of the festivities turn into party central.   Camping on the beach has its merits, but if the weather acts up  you will definitely want real shelter from high winds and rain.

Book a Hotel

Don’t wait until spring break to book a hotel and get in on the action.  For the best rates, and in fact, the best chance of actually getting a room, plan ahead.  Way ahead.   Bookings at Fort Lauderdale hotels, motels, inns, and in cardboard boxes are at a premium.   If you wait until the last minute you will be paying a fortune, if you are fortunate enough not to find yourself sleeping in a parking garage or some other fine downtown Fort Lauderdale facility.
